The original coal-burning fireplace, accented by walnut woodwork handcrafted by Riverside’s builder, Leon Clench, is the focal point of the back parlour. Leon’s daughter Nora, a child prodigy who became a concert violinist in Germany and England in the 1890s, was first taught violin by her father, likely in this room.
